MAIN GOAL OF THE PROJECT IS CONTRIBUTE TO INCREASED LIVESTOCK PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH ENHANCEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE HERD MANAGEMENT SKILLS OF HERDER HOUSEHOLDS.

Livestock Project Mongolia has been approved by SDC with annual budget of 1.5 million CHF to be implemented for 6 years from 2009 to 2015. The Project opening ceremony held on March 31, 2009.

By the end of 2008, Mongolia has 43.2 millions of livestock, including 266.3 thousand camels, 2.1 million horses, 2.5 million cattle, 18.3 million sheep and about 20 million goats.

Target aimags of the project are western provinces of Mongolia, including Arkhangai, Bayan-Ulgii, Bayankhongor, Govi-Altai, Zavkhan, Khovd and Uvs aimags
